ALICE + OLIVIA
The Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet Spring/Summer 2017 presentation combined complementary colors and
dynamic prints wrapped in intricate and magical story-telling!! Senses were transformed with beautifully
orchestrated vignettes featuring 18th century tarot cards and mystic gardens (complete with a real tarot
card reader), natural fantasies with 'song bird' cages and topiary landscapes and cool, statuesque,
modern-day goddesses towering high in elongated silhouettes. The NAILS were perfect in their
sophisticated simplicity!
The first of three looks was 'Crown of Palms,' featuring a
crown of hand-painted palm leaves around the perimeter of the nail on a cream-tinted soft oval base
to create a natural contouring and slimming effect. Graphic enough… and skinny enough to be just plain
cool for a hot summer day! The next look was the 'Palm French,' which took its cue from the
original French mani, but took creative license in making it more artistic. One side was a
hand-painted rich green palm frond and the other side, a soft dusty pink frame. In the end it says:
'merci beaucoup' for making me so fabulous ;-)!!
And finally, we ended the magical story with a cascade of the tiniest clear crystals falling like a
summer mist on the most ethereal and concealed healthy base. Light, lovely, wearable and city chic.
