Michael van der Ham:
S/S 2014

The sun was shining at the Café Royal Hotel in the beautiful Pompadour room, framed with guided paneling, smoky mirrors and hand-painted murals on the ceiling. All served as the perfect backdrop for the sophisticated and optimistic collection by designer Michael Van der Ham for S/S 2014.

The models strolled down the runway in a dreamy daze as they discovered the signs of springs’ first bloom. The couture fabrics of shadowed floral patterns of muted pastels were beautifully complimented with four soft-focus nail looks inspired by a deeply romantic and impressionistic garden. Layers of hand painted flowers in combinations of yellow and grey, teal and black, pink, grey and coral, and the deepest navy and purple provided a tonal pattern on a ‘casual’ shaped nail as easy to wear as your favorite ballet flat. The art was painterly, dreamy and perfectly- imperfect to reflect the true spirit of the Michael's modern muse.
