The Blonds

Fire, fury and frescos all served as key words of inspiration for the Blonds Fall Winter 2018 runway show. The question of the day is what the world would come to if Lucifer was a woman? If you look at the answer through the CND nail lens, it would look like incandescent flames of fire, molten marbled lava, armor with lethal spikes and warrior nails all in exaggerated shapes created with richly saturated colors. And when the skies clear, the angels sing! Portraits of the designers themselves in halos and horns served as the centerpiece for hand painted fresco nails rimmed with gold and framed with clouds and cupids arrows. Then like smoke rising, iridescent purple and 24-karat high shine nails erupted into 3D shards of volcanic crystals taking the story full circle and back into the fire. This tension between angels and demons produced a dichotomous collection of dramatic nail designs as perfect punctuation to this exquisite collection of Blonds artistry. The crescendo was a flame red and bejeweled corset made entirely of ruby red nail tips!! A heavenly way to celebrate the perfect partnership!

Libertine

The Libertine runway show is hands down one of the most anticipated each season because of the refined and distinctive eye of designer Johnson Hartig and his uncanny ability to bring fantasy and luxury together in the most exhilarating way. As electric as all of his shows are, this one was certainly a pinnacle, showcasing his ability to bring together an eclectic mix of embroidery designs, fabrics and patterns. Perhaps it was the emotion behind this collection and the love he embodied in this show, which paid homage to his beloved mother. Every detail was hand crafted, with cozy depression-era detail in matte finishes and richly saturated colors of hunter green, burgundy, reds and golds. The chic fluidity of silken ombre fringe (which floated effortlessly from the nails all the way to the floor) added a dreamy extension to this dramatic display of chic elegance. ALL made with LOVE!
