The wildly imaginative world of Moschino, under the design direction of Jeremy Scott, is like no other. It's a dichotomous blend of fun and funny with refinement and luxury. For Fall/Winter 2017, the 'Materials Girl' story features a wealthy Upper East Side woman who loses it all overnight. In the end, style prevails and her innate sense of couture plus the found materials around her empower uncompromising confidence!
The Mise-en-scène on the runway included three acts: first, the deceptively real 'Cardboard Couture', with suits and coats stamped with shipping labels and wrapped in shipping tape (in reality, a softer fabric has never been seen...aha, such Moschino cheekiness!). Next, the trompe l'oeil hip hop trash-chic day wear patched together with tear sheets from high end fashion magazines. And finally, the cocktail and red carpet dresses in duct tape, trash bags, bubble wrap and velvet curtains, in an elegant display of impossibly covetable fashion.
Beauty was classic Audrey Hepburn, with chiseled hair and graphic makeup. Under the design direction of CND Creative Ambassador, Miss Pop, NAILS were sleek, pointed almonds highly-lacquered (as though wrapped in shipping tape) in a base shade of 'Cardboard' (VINYLUX™ Weekly Polish in Clay Canyon mixed with Banana Clips and Cream Puff) and detailed with 'Masking Tape' moons (in Studio White).
The parade of fame was never-ending...Gigi, Bella, Kendall...but especially the magnificent global Nail Pro team under the leadership of Shelena Robinson, Ladybird House Pros, Marian Newman and Miss Pop!
