Tommy Hilfiger

It took place in the birthplace of punk rock, Camden, where you can still find blue Mohawks and plenty of charcoaled eyes and black nails on the streets 😉!!! Iconic American designer, Tommy Hilfiger, stepped across the pond for the first time to pay homage to his friend Mick Jagger and British rock n' roll by presenting a see-now/buy-now collection for London Fashion Week. Not just a show, but an entertainment extravaganza - the evening was held in the famed Round House music venue and featured fashion, celebrity, merchandise to buy, acrobatics, and even a performance by the Chainsmokers. Lots of sibs were there too walking the runway, to include Gigi, her sister Bella, and brother Anwar plus sisters Jagger, Georgia-May, and Lizzie. All the London cool girls rocked the rubberized inky matte mani in Vinylux Black Pool with a top layer of RidgeFX that gave the nails their unique finish (you can also get this look with our new Shellac Matte Top Coat over your favorite dark shade!). Punk black nails…an appropriate exclamation point to a rebellious fashion week.

Gareth Pugh

The debut of the Gareth Pugh film took place in the largest IMAX screen in all of Europe, in the heart of London. No runway or models and no clothing, only the soul of a visionary designer making a statement about his art. Gareth stripped down naked before his friends and family to bring forward the concept of denude, or a spirit of evocation, a most primal creative instinct and 'the very dearest thing that life can offer'. This for Gareth is working with trusted collaborators to bring a dream film to life. We at CND were proud to be among these partners by punctuating the dramatic finale and ascension of the story with luminous, flickering flame-like nails beaming like bright red lasers from fingertips. As the flame of the story grew stronger, flashes of strong metallic gold talons lifted the love and admiration in the room for the gift of a story beautifully told.

Ryan LO

The SS18 Ryan LO runway show was a beautiful display of contradiction in wedding white and funeral black. The frothy dresses in the collection were an ode to perfection and delicacy; the transition from transparency to opacity and girlhood to womanhood. There were tiers of tulle, pastel embroidery, Victorian lace and strands of knotted pearls wound around the waists and wrists of the waif-like models. Set in a lovely old chapel in the heart of London, the parade of diaphanous looks were properly balanced with Royal pomp and circumstance, complete with structured millinery and prim purses. Nails were the right touch of flourish with hand molded white florals dusted with silver against a transparent base, pewter blooms with a veil of smoke, a fresh pastel bouquet and a veiled bouquet, all on sleek almonds. A fairytale wedding… and funeral.
